Home |Blog | Recipes | Pictures | Video Websites have come along way since I started making them in college. One thing hasn't changed (for me): I don't like writing about myself. But I am sure you are here for a reason, and I certainly don't want to disappoint. This web portal is designed to a hub for all the things happening in my life. While I dislike writing about myself, I love to write articles and short stories. I work out almost daily (even if my wasteline doesn't show it). I love music (listening and playing), especially the works of Ryan Adams. I got married in 2008, which I like to call the ultimate personal project plan (wow, even typing that line is pretty lame.... ) Recently I have been expanding my "outside work" resume by becoming a semi-professional blogger with phillyist.com, my own network of websites have been expanding (thanks for visiting), I am vice president of my home owners association, and I am an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church (I am serious when I say I am available for weddings). I am also half-way through my MBA, so life is certainly interesting at the moment! | [Resume: Story Format] After graduating from Drexel University in 2002 (in the top 2% of his class) with a B.S in Information Systems, I accepted a full time position with a large Philadelphia based health insurance company (after a 2 year internship). Taking over operational support for the corporate messaging system, I reduced the amount of outages by 90% within 18 months. After the messaging environment was stabilized, I was offered a position in the company's emerging service management organization bringing focus on metrics, uptime availability, and cost transparency of services. Recently my focus has shifted to vendor service management, focusing on large outsourcing engagements. In addition to my corporate commitments, in 2003 I open "Computer Joey". A retail computer repair store that offered a variety of services. Necessity is the best form of invention, and during those years I came up interesting small business solutions/projects for my customers that I am proud of. In 2006, my partners and I decided to close down the physical store front and focus on other projects. A true student of life never stops learning and in the years since the store closed, I have focused my personal projects on open source applications, operating systems, and cloud computing.
